Are spare batteries available for the Wireless Video Doorbell?

No. The ADC-VDB780B can only be powered using the included rechargeable battery pack.

Can the Wireless Video Doorbell's LED stay illuminated?

No. The ADC-VDB780B is battery-powered and the constant draw of power from a continuously lit LED would require the doorbell camera to be recharged more frequently. The ADC-VDB780B's LED will only illuminate when the button is pressed or when motion is detected.

How long can the Wireless Video Doorbell battery last?

The ADC-VDB780B is estimated to last up to 6 months on a single charge, depending on usage.

Is SD Onboard Recording supported with the Wireless Video Doorbell?

No. The Wireless Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB780B) is battery-powered, so Onboard Recording is not supported.

Why is the camera name and timestamp missing from the initial Wireless Video Doorbell footage?

Because the wireless video doorbell is battery-operated, the device needs to power on before it can display camera/timestamp information within the footage. This is why it takes a few seconds to display the camera name and timestamp after a clip is triggered or the live view begins streaming.

How many Smart Chimes can a doorbell camera ring at once?

There is no limit to how many Alarm.com Smart Chimes (ADC-W115Cs) a doorbell camera can ring.

How many devices can be connected to the Smart Chime?

Connecting a maximum of four devices to the Alarm.com Smart Chime (ADC-W115C) is recommended for optimal performance. Users can connect additional devices, but there can be a negative impact on performance.

How many Smart Chimes can be on a single account?

There is no limit to the number of Alarm.com Smart Chimes (ADC-W115C) that can be installed onto a single account, and they do not count towards the account's video device limit.

What is the AP mode IP address for the Smart Chime?

Overview

The Alarm.com Smart Chime (ADC-W115C) uses a unique gateway IP address for AP (Access Point) Mode (192.168.173.1), compared to what is used for most Alarm.com cameras.

Explanation

Because the ADC-W115C is a device that connects to an existing network and broadcasts a separate network, it must maintain two network interfaces.

To prevent unexpected behavior, it is important that the IP address range used for the chime's broadcasted network is distinct from the uplink network. Because the ADC-W115C cannot dictate what IP Address it is assigned, AP mode uses an IP address that is unlikely to collide with the AP address assigned to the chime by the user's router.
